Kate Frizalis graduated at VGIK in Moscow with a first and second degree at the department of Art and Animation. In her abstract way, her work speaks about movement and path. Throughout her creative process in each of her works she continues to keep freedom, spontaneity, temporariness, imperfection, absurd, primitive and playfulness evident as a form of guideline. “In order to preserve essence - freedom is a necessity, but freedom cannot exist within a conformity of conceptualism and definement. Freedom is the void in which all possibilities can co-exist together, and that is what inspires me”.
Frizalis’s works combine techniques on paper, canvas, walls, fabric and other materials and are characterised by richness of colour combined with typography, graffiti and materials like construction wire, orange peel and others. The unique combination allows her to study contrast between colour and texture, shape and rhythm.
Frizalis constantly participates is art exhibitions such as ‘Fresh Paint', has had solo exhibitions at ‘Florentine Gallery’ and ‘Kuli Alma’, group exhibitions at ‘Moscow Museum of Modern Art’ and others. Her works can be found in private collections across USA, Germany, France, Canada, Russia, Israel and other countries across the globe.
In a unique and intriguing cooperation with 1of135 Gallery, her fascinating works are being sold at an extremely limited edition - only 35 copies and at affordable prices, alongside one-of-a-kind works as well.
